The Gibson Axe
The made in the U.S.A. Gibson Axe was designed by James Gibson as a small, compact axe that will easily fit in a backpack. Gibson’s stated goal was a comfortable using tool that could do most camp chores, as well as being used as a carving axe. The Viking bearded head allows for close-up work and the finger grooves / textured scales along with the swell on the end provides an excellent gripping surface when chopping. The 1095 high carbon steel frame is about as indestructible as you can get for an axe this size.
JG3 Camplore
The JG3 features a full flat grind, 1095 steel, and Micarta handles. Designed by Journeyman knifemaker and primitive skills expert, James Gibson.
The ESEE JG3 features now feature a Black Oxide Stone Washed finish and ESEE logo. The original JG3 with uncoated blade and Camp-Lore logo has been discontinued.
ESEE JG5
The ESEE JG5 fixed blade was designed by James Gibson and inspired by the "Nessmuk" knife carried by adventurer, writer, and early conservationist, George Washington Sears, who wrote under the pen name, Nessmuk. The JG5 bears a similar style to ESEE's popular PR4 and features a black oxide finish, 1095 carbon steel blade. The brown sculpted or chipped micarta handles feature triple screws. The JG5 comes with a stitched brown leather "pouch" sheath with belt loop that is very similar to that of the PR4.
Currently, the JG5 is exclusive to Smoky Mountain Knife Works (SMKW) and only available through SMKW and their dealers and distributors.
ESEE Pinch
Designed by Journeyman knifemaker, James Gibson, the Pinch is an ultra-concealable mini-knife that's easy to hold in the hand and ergonomically shaped for use. The Pinch is held in the sheath by a rare earth magnet, making it very secure to carry, yet simple to deploy. When James was asked where he came up with the name, he said "It'll do in a pinch."
